Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! Ceri Rees from Caerphilly has won the competition for a family ticket - many congratulations!
The full programme for the main ring has now been posted - take a look at the Main Ring Attractions page.
Listen out for our radio advertising later in the month on local radio. We're also pleased to say that local station Bay Radio will be broadcasting live from the event over the weekend.
New tradestands continue to be booked. We're delighted to welcome Burns Pet Nutrition, well known for their healthy animal food and giant company Costco, who have recently opened in Cardiff and will be promoting the benefits of membership of their stores.
Dog Show Programme now announced Greyhound Rescue Wales, one of the joint organisers of the event, have now released the details for the Fun Family Dog Show, which will be held at 2.30 p.m. each afternoon. There are classes for all the family and child entrants are guaranteed a rosette. For more details, take a look at the Dogs Page.
Competition - Win a Family Ticket to the Show!
Enter our simple competition in August and you could win your family a wonderful free day out at the Festival. A family ticket will allow up to two adults and two children to spend a magical day enjoying the spectacle and fun of the event. All you need to do is answer this simple question -

Entries open on 1st August and close on Saturday 28th August.
To enter, send an email here, with the word Competition in the subject line. Give the answer to the question, along with your name, postal address and contact telephone number, plus the day which you'd like to attend. The winner's ticket will be posted out to them.
Competition Rules
The judges decision is final. No cash alternatives to the prize. Judging will be by members of the Welsh Festival of the Horse Committee. Entries restricted to the UK only. The judges accept no responsibility for failure of entries to be received.

Come and be a volunteer at the Festival! We're looking for volunteer stewards who can help on either the Saturday or the Sunday of the Festival.
In return for doing a shift of two and a half hours, you'll get free admission to the whole day's excitement. To be a volunteer, you need to be at least sixteen years old, you'll have an interest in working with the public, able to stand or walk about for at least 2.5 hours, have excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to engage with the public and exhibitors, and be able to use your own initiative. An interest in either horses or dogs would be helpful.
Taking part in the event will provide you with a first hand experience of events management, will help support a local community initiative and will give you the opportunity to meet some really interesting people including the exhibitors. You must be available for the stewards' briefing at 9.30 a.m. on the morning of the day you are working, and then for at least one session. The sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. 12.30p.m. - 3.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. You'll receive appropriate high visibility clothing, a full safety briefing and will be supervised by a senior steward. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Your duties could include any of the following :-
